leopard wrasse question?

My local fish store had a leopard wrasse in that i picked up over the weekend. i asked them to put some food in to see if it would eat. They dropped frozen mysis shrimp in and he did eat one so i took him. Not long after adding him to tank he burried himself in the sand and did not come out until last night around 8. I fed the tank at that point and watched him and did not notice him eat anything (i feed Rods frozen food). I am wondering if i need to go buy frozen mysis today to see if he will eat that or just give it time, maybe he is still adjusting to the tank??? What do you think?

You might as well get some mysis it sure wouldn't hurt and it's a good food to feed. I feed Hikari mysis it's a quality brand.

Check out the leopard wrasse primer on this forum. Plenty of information in there that will explain it's sand diving and feeding issues...

Also: If it's already in your DT, you are at a disadvantage since the fish will have competition for food, you won't be able to observe it as well, and haven't treated the fish for any disease. At least a round of prazi is normally in order for these fish. Kind of a controversial topic with these sensitive fish, but I believe all fish should be QT'ed.

Regardless, getting the fish accustomed to the food you feed is another good reason for QT.

Best of luck!!!
