lesions and worms

So I've been searcing the forums until my eyes can't focus. I have been observing the decline of my un-named zoa colony for a couple of weeks now. I thought the zoas were adjusting to the lighting change to my tank from the LFS. Last week I began to notice the white lesions "plague", progressing now to many polyps missing, and remaining polyps failing to open. Performed Muchos dip last night, which I also did before placing in tank--found 2 nudibranchs initially, none last night. Today I witnessed a small worm extending from a hole in the rock definately taking bites of remaining polyps. It appears to suction onto a stalk and retract slightly, giving a definate tug to the zoa polyp. There are atleast 3 of these worms in different holes in this rock. My theory is that there is a corelation between these "bites" and the "lesions" (infections?), although I've read atleast one response disclaiming the possibility. I will try the Furan dip for the lesions, but want to also remove the worms. I have no hope for trapping since these worms are very small and never leave their hole, only extending to pluck at polyps. Any suggestions for a dip to remove these worms from the rock without further harming zoas?

Wow, you could try boiling some water, I mean getting it scalding hot. Using a syringe, extract the hot water and shoot it into the hole the worm is in. Of course, remove the rock from the water first before doing this. The dips are not a cure all, we just don't have much to choose from. Check the informational thread above for more ideas. It's a great source of knowledge from a lot of great reefers.

Thanks Mucho Reef. I hoped you would offer something, I see your name often, and can definately vouch for your Lugol's dip. Your suggestion is labor intensive but worth it if successful. This was once a beautiful colony of blue zoas, my absolute favorite.
