Lesson Learned

Yeah, the longspine cardinals are awesome. The fish look nice, with the blue glow, but they *actually* shoal, which is incredible to watch.

The angels in my tank will look at them cross eyed then dart right through them. The cardinals will all shoot out in different directions only to reform and shoal in a different place. I've got 5, but I've been thinking about adding 3 or 4 more.

FW Exit has no effect on AEFW. You probably have a case of red planaria or basic flatworm.

With planaria, you have to be careful, as the dieoff can cause the flatworms to release toxins that can build up quickly in an aquarium.

HTH,
Could very well be, As far as the Toxins I ran plenty of fresh carbon as soon as I saw die off and then did a large water change. I was lucky my frag tank is bare bottom and I just vacuumed out everything on the bottom of the tank. Filter socks seem to have limited it to my frag tank only.
It's been several days and I have not seen any sign of them any more.
Everything in the tank looks great and I'm glad I got them when I did and didn't lose anything over it.

Yeah you had the old basic planaria Bill. At any rate I always dip with Interceptor and TMPCC and will sometimes add in FWE If I think those will be a problem. This is important with ALL corals, not just SPS. Hydrogen peroxide and freshwater dips might even be called for with zoas. Interceptor is important with montis for black bugs and the nudies are a whole other creature. If I am getting SPS I ALWAYS want fresh cut frags with no bases so there are no places for AEFW eggs to hide;)

Interceptor is vital to my dipping for red bugs.

I go with a two hour interceptor dip, followed by a close inspection, followed by a 4 minute dip in Revive, followed by another close inspection. It isn't an ideal QT, but I don't have room for a proper QT, so I make due with it and it has worked out so far.
