I just got this set up and i would like feed back before i start adding or moving rock around. <a href="http://s270.photobucket.com/albums/jj101/tall_jason79/?action=view&current=P1010442.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj101/tall_jason79/P1010442.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Looks nice. I'd work on the aquascaping on the left side so you have a few more caves and a little more height - similar to the right side.

Its not covered in corals like most of the ones that I've seen posted, but it looks great for only being about a month old. You might try going for a little more height with the rocks, but that is just personal preference. Mine started very much like yours about 6 months ago, and after slowly adding some fish and corals it looks better every day.

thanks bruce , that is the plan add slowly *** i go . there are a few zoa's some ric and atheia a tomato clown and a PJ cardinal all levels are good other then my cal. which is only at 240 and im working on that . any hints would be great for raising my cal levels

Okay, this is a shot in the dark considering I can't see the actual rocks and aquascaping is such a personal decision.

I'd clear out the red areas (and possibly the purple area) to form little lagoon like areas so you have more sand visible. I'd rotate the blue rock to give another little cave and leave a ledge below it. I'd move one or two of the big rocks from the red area and put it in the green area.

Just some ideas.

thanks mike, i just have the small pieces there untill i get a sump going . then those smaller pieces will go to the sump and i will replace them or open it up some . great input!!

I would use less rock and leave some openings so there is not a big long dike of rock in the tank.

i think it looks great but does need more openings or caves. Had same problem and trust me you want to be able to get flow through those rocks otherwise you end up with some issues like stagnet areas with left over food build up and eventually hair algae problems. Poor circulation means poor water quality and bigger tanks have longer recovery time. I'm guilty also but in the process of improving.

i used texas holey rock for base .... its a little to white right now but it works from what i have researched

I used some in my tank, and after a year it is purple and green. Looks as good as some of the LR.

I like to keep the rock off the glass so I can get a mag float in, but that is up to you.

Looks good i also think it needs more height though. Also more caves but Thats my thoughts.

His rock is at least halfway up the tank and in some spots more. I think leaving the rock structure lower allows corals room to grow upward which looks cool. But, aquascaping is personal for sure.

using a hob skimmer with 2 600 rio's , a fluval 405 , another hob filter, i still need to get lights . right now its just a 4x65 pc fixture with a florux 65 watt fixture . Its hard to put out a ton on lights all at once lol . i'm going to do a sump soon, i hope, just need the hob overflow box and pump which is pretty well everything . It will just take time .

I agree nanook, i wanted some high and some low for that reason . Its hard to see but the middle is much higher then the rest to allow tall coral to grow in those locations
