LEt talk eels

you should just set up a 40 breeder or a 55 for the dwarf? Sump-less, CL, skimmer setup would work with a good water change schedule.

I keep a large spotted snake moray and a yellow-head together...if your looking to keep two eels together you could try a golden dwarf with a zebra or any other non-piscivorous species. You can keep any two same sized eels together.

I just want to add that the above statement is not always true. Serious research should be put into the subject before you attempt to mix any eel species. The only exception to what I just said would be if you happen to come across a matched pair that has either already been together for some time in a tank similar to your own or a wild caught pair like the ones that were on DD forever.

It is hard enough to catch an eel out of any tank let alone getting one out of a tank where there are two of them, one angry about the trespasser and the other frightened out of its mind... Gotta be a complete nightmare and most likely will end up painful for the tank owner.

Yes and no to all of the above including the matched pair idea. For the most part chainlinks and snowflakes should be alright together, there are exceptions of course at times. As far as the GDM's go I have at least one in every one of my tanks except for one of my dragon tanks with no problems. A lot of which moray will go with which depends on a lot of factors like tank size, amount of rockwork and how its arranged, size and type of eels involved, other fish in the tank, length of time one eel may have been living in the tank prior to introduction of another, and of course the individual eel involved as they do vary, etc.
Safest bet of course is alone, however I have been keeping multiple morays together for a substantial length of time with one minor incident ever.

I kept a gold dwarf with a 24" goldentail eel for a bit over two years. I ended up selling the goldentail which is why I only kept them together that long. No incidents, they always kept close to each other and were very peaceful. I had the gold dwarf first. I tried this match because another member on here kept the same species together without issue as well. Just my experience. There's a risk but it worked well for me.

Dont mean to hijack this thread but, could i keep a zebra moray eel with a dragon moray in a 100 gallon cube?

Thanks
