I picked these fish up a week ago and their health deteriorated quickly. I hit WWM and I'm seeing similar cases but no solutions.
A major fault of mine being that I didn't see them eat at the LFS. In the store they were going after scraps floating by in the current so I assumed they were eating.
I tried frozen brine, frozen mysis, Formula One flake and live brine. The fish would go after the food and sometimes take it, only to spit it out again.
Two days after I had bought them the smaller of the two was looking stressed and maybe a little lethargic. I was keeping me eye on the tank for any signs of aggression but saw none. Morning three I found the smaller fish gasping between two rocks. I grabbed a towel, move the rock and the fish was dead....that fast.
Now the remaining fish is looking lethargic, not eating and has a streamer of white feces.
As I said, I'm finding others with this issue, but no solutions.
Has anybody else run into this? I get the feeling the fish wont make it another 24 hours.
