I just read in the book ( I got my first crocea last night) - Giant Clams in the Sea and the Aquarium - by James Fatherrree, that pinched mantle is caused by an as of yet unidentified protozoan and that it is easily treated with a 30 minute freshwater dip. Clam should show improvement in a day or so and a couple more days to get back to normal. This sounds like a treatment...

Ok, after a little reading on the forum I see that it is a more complicated issue that what was described in the book...

We are moving forward with our research. For the ones that donated and there were a lot of you. Thank you!

We are making progress but do not want to release bit and pieces but would rather wait till we have completed our studies/research then we will write/publish for all to read.
