Let's get the truth on dwarf angel fish

You will find alot of varying opinions on this topic. Across the board everyone genreally saying with caution. Some say that nip at corals. Others like myself (coral beauty) have successfully kept them in a reef tank without issue. Ultimately it comes down to your choice.

Dwarf Angels?

Dwarf Angels?

I think it is worth the chance just for the bueaty of the Dwarf Angels. Even now I have a coral bueaty in my reef fighting with my largest clown for king of the tank. He doesn't bother corals... Good Luck!:jester::dance:

Doesn't matter how many times you start the same thread, the answer is going to be the same. Dwarf angels nip, some worse then others; IME the bicolor is the worst.

As for a coral beauty...

Is this a joke? You started a total of three threads already asking exactly the same question. If you just want to hear the answer you want to hear, then go ahead and buy the angel you want. It's your corals that will get nipped at anyway, not ours.

I really like flame angle too but no luck at the first time. But I been saw him in the mix reef tank. They look really nice. Really much all the dwraf angle are reef save and again it like 50/50% So just becareful at couple week. :))

He does that... A lot. :deadhorse1:

Haha o well we have all made our mistakes so we have to deal with it and sins my question is answered I will not get the dwarf I was just making sure because my lfs had one in their reef for sale.

Appears to be using about three different usernames too. Having entire discussions using two different names in the aggressive forum.

I say give it a try and let us know how it turns out.

I've seen clown tang that aren't terrors, purple tangs living in harmony with other zebramosas, three dwarf angels living in the same reef tank at once. :)

If you want it bad enough, give it a try. Let us know how it turns out.

My purple and yellow tangs are buddies. My coral beauty also hasn't ever nipper at any of my coral. Not saying he never will though.

We had a coral beauty that would constantly nip our toadstool leather so it could never get any polyp extension, and he also nipped at our clam. He never bothered the xenia, zooanthids, frogspawn or palys though. If you are OK with the risk of potentially having to take your tank apart to get a problematic fish out, go for it. It is FUN let me tell you. Not.

The only fish I've had nip at corals was my old powder blue tang. he occasionally took a bite out of the green star polyps. That stuff grows like weeds though, so it didn't bother me any.
