Lets play a game

I recently received a $200 gift card to a LFS. I am looking to add something "WOW" to my tank. It could be a show piece coral or awesomly unique fish. So what would you pick if you were given free money to choose somethimg amazing?

A little about my tank:
90 Gallon mixed reef. Yellow tang, clown, and fairy wrasse.
Toadstool leather, gold wall hammer, lots of acans and some cloves, mushrooms and other softies.

Thanks for playing!

I would give it to me if I were you. Its a great way to earn brownie points in my book!

It would really depend on what the LFS had at the time I went.

Ha, Just assuming here, but im sure my little tank could use the help more than yours lol.

I would sell it to someone at a bit of a discount and use the cash to purchase coral and fish at a much better price from other Slash/RC members... But I'm a cheapskate and find it very hard too pay store prices.:D

It is just cause I can not get myself to spend $200 on one thing I will eventually kill. I prefer to have the odds of having something survive.

But that's just the point, he's not spending the money, someone else is.
This is that perfect time to do something for yourself that you would normally never do.......

I say if it's a fish get something that you could roll the dice on, and if it doesn't make it you're not out much if anything....Like an Achilles Tang, Scotts, Rhomboid, Lineatus fairy wrasses, Pair of Bluespot Jaw fish, just as examples......something that most people would just say oooh that's pretty......but a hobbyist would be like "wow!! you have a _____

So if a fish.....Blow the whole wad and maybe some to boot....

If Coral....
Pick something that is either a nice unique coral....One that's like a scoly or meat coral.....yeah they all look alike in body, but can be very one of a kind in pattern and color.....this is a spoil me choice....a treat for me.
Or go for 1 maybe 2 frags of something that fetches that kind of price in hopes of being able to frag it yourself some day.

If we had more info on your tank it might help.....but those are the routes I'd go.

Perfect, that's exactly what kind of answer I was looking for. Not to mention you listed two of my possible choices I have been kicking around in the scoly or blue spot jawfish. Maybe both if I can get a good price on them.

That being said keep the ideas coming I appreciate all of them!!

I would purchase something I know would thrive and survive in my tank, I wouldn't want to roll the dice on something that wouldn't. It's not about losing out on the $200, but more the fact that you are killing something for no reason. Just be sure that what ever you get, your tank will fit its needs for survival.
