now those are some nice shots way better than most point and shoots out there and even some dslr's lol..

I think you're putting too much on the camera. I'd say most point and shoots and any DSLR is far more capable, but ultimately it's the photographer using the equipment correctly that makes the shot. Many of those cell phone pictures are quite honestly much better than I would have expected, but I wouldn't go overboard on their praise.
