For starters, it means that you are going to need some holes in your tank.
One or more holes for pump intakes...and one or more holes for the outputs back into the tank. Beyond that, it is up to you to decide what sort of water movement you are trying to create.
Here's photos of my twin closed loops...it might give you some ideas. In my case, each CL has 1 input (back wall) and 4 outlets (2 in the floor, 2 in the back wall). The OM-4way on top of each Dart pump sends water through 2 of those outlets at any moment. The 2 on the back wall are active...then the two on the floor are active. In this way, the water is pushed toward the front...then up and toward the back.
