Lets see the Growth!!!

If you want your Zoa and Paly's to grow quickly give them a good dose of Phytoplankton every day. I found growth doubled when it was added. I use live stuff which is really easy to culture but you can buy it. Your zoo's will love you for it!

Every day? I thought too much phytoplankton could actually start growing on its own in the tank. Someone on another thread said their water is green from the amount of plankton. Its like its taking in the fuge or something.

I dose Phyto & Cyclopeeze everyday, now finally got some DT's oyster eggs so gonna add some of those daily as well

Cheers Shelton.

Culturing phyto is big on my list to do. I can put a $30 bag of phyto-cure in for one feeding. I surely can't afford that everyday.

I have about 200 zoo colonies,150 zoo frags, 18 sps colonies,179 sps frags. i'd go broke feeding everyday.

Any thougts? Is there anything better for groth ? I will try some Dts ~

Just a bit of DT Phyto, once a week. I've seen some nice growth, maybe one to two a week for zoo polyp and same for my neon green clove.

I'm going to resume phyto feeding soon and add baby brine shrimp, we'll see if that helps any.

I have DT's Phytoplankton, that I usually dose twice a week. I recently just got DT's Natural Reef Diet (Oyster eggs) and Phyto-Feast Live. As little as I have dosed... Most of my zoanthids have grown to 2 1/2 times what they where 3 months ago. I have the before pictures in my gallery, and I will try to get some after shots and post them both on here soon.

i wish mine grew that well

The single biggest thing I've noticed for increased growth is stability and security. By that I mean stable tank conditions and the coral "knowing" that its not going to be fooled around with. When we moved things to the 150 we moved them around for about a week getting things just so (heck, who am I kidding, I still move things around) but the things that we dont move grow like crazy. Once things have been established for a few weeks, they seem to take off. After that, its happy fragging :-D

Here are the pictures of one of mine.

I keep mine under 265w PC. I try to dose DT's phyto twice a week. I just recently started dosing DT's oyster eggs and Phyto-Feast Live.

These came in on a rock with some yellow polyps, only had about 5 polyps of them to start with in very bad condition.
