Lets see Those ASM mods

Here is my modified G3 with Recirc and Gate valve mods:

Note that I have redone the Gate valve mod since this photo was taken so that the Gate valve is after the T and stands straight up.

What trap? I assume you are talking about how the water exits, if so then I really like it. I get no bubble in the main tank or micro bubbles of the skimmer at all really. I do get some bubbles where the water that is flowing out of the skimmer meets the water that is in the sump, but it is nothing major at all.

The gate valve is pretty sensitive too.

Mike,

How did you connect your overflow drain tube to the uniseal?

I just stuck the overflow tube in the Uniseal. A little windex helped to get the tube to slide into the uniseal.

Note that I have since added a T and Ball valve to control the amount of flow from my overflow into my skimmer. You can see the ball valve in this pictur here where the extra water is feeding the fuge instead of the skimmer:

How are you guys doing the recirc mod? Drilling? And if so how are you sealing around the hole given that the body of the skimmer is curved? Globs of silicone?

Why would you want to mod one, arent these great by themselves? Or are you modding them because you have models that should be on smaller tanks?

Thanks.

Gate valve mod - I did for easier adjustment and because I had water splashing.

Recirculation mod - I plan to do because it supposedly boosts skimmer performance.
