Thanks guys... My camera skills have come a long way in the last year or so... And its all due to my aquarium... lol ;)

I'll try and post some of my other pieces this weekend...

Looks like most of our nice Acans are being exported to the US market, where you guys are prepared to pay a lot more for them than we are.

Here's one of mine, rainbow acan. This colony loses most of its green and yellow under intense lighting. It prefers low lighting levels. This is a frag of the main colony.

Unbelievable colors everyone, and especially awed at yours louist! Thanks for sharing!

Do you all have superfantastic camera's to get those kind of shots or are you skills getting you those great shots? I keep trying but I just can't get a decent picture in macro mode or otherwise.

Robyn,
I took my pics using a DSLR (Canon 1Ds mk2), but I tried it with my parent's new canon point & shoot camera, and the results were pretty good still!

A tripod or steady support goes a long way to helping you get consistently good results.

Louist to me what's cool is the feeders are out under the actinics. :)
The second photo is actually under moonlight. My moonlight is a 30cm blue cold cathode. It is the same ones as those used in computer mods. I got it from an electronics shops, and run it off an AC-DC powerpack.

What I have found is that if you feed them often, their feeders will be out day and night. I have a red/white colony that never seems to be satisfied with the amount of food I give it.

One of my colonies went from red to pinkish red. It looks like it bleached a bit, but I prefer this color better! Here are the pics:
