Actually all clowns start off as juveniles or nonsexed. The most dominant of that group will become the female and the second most dominant will become male. The juveniles wait to take the place either when they die, but more often than not if the female dies the male will move up to female and a juvenile will become male. It is a one way road juvenile to male to female or juvenile to female. No turning back.... :D

Oh and as Kayl stated a solitary clown will take the highest role (female).

Is that really happening? Is that Anemone eating that clownfish? That's an awesome shot dude. You must of caught that right on time too. Was that clown dead already?
