I just received my Lee Big Stopper (10-stops) and I'm having a LOT of fun with it!! I liked it so much that after shooting with it, I ordered a Gitzo as soon as I got home ;)

I'd like to see some inspirational shots with long exposures.... please post yours!

Here's what I got over the weekend:
both are 30 second exposures

I shoot in low light often with long exposures. Been a long time since I used a ND filter aside from a polarizer acting like one. I have seen some cool effects with it though. Nice job with your photos.

20 seconds if I recall correctly. Thing with long exposures and night time is the star trails. Obviously during the day or at twightlight that is not so much an issue. Heck, lot of people take images just for the star trails (like the ones Doug took of the Falls at Yosemite). With the dense ND filter, depending on you goal any sort of breeze is a killer. They seem to be quite popular with water scenes for obvious reasons but get some folliage in there with some movement too and for me I don't like it. Just MHO of course. I like most of not all of my shots to have everything sharp. Any, I'll be looking forward to more images you get with the setup.

Great shots! Long exposure photography is something I would like to do more of now that I have a decent camera. The fall photo is with my DSLR, the other two were with a point & shoot.

Here's one of my longer time lapses... it's definitely not a PRO shot but I liked it, it was my first real attempt at photographing something millions of light years away :)

And then just another one I took outside goofing around, I wasnt planning on doing a time lapse so this is just balanced on a rock and I think it was about a 5 second shot.

I live a few minutes from the grocery store. There. Thats a time/distance crossover. Just like his post

Maybe he was insinuating that you took a picture from the past because what you saw actually happened a few years ago?

Ahahahaahaha, I completely messed up my statement... Now I look like an idiot... I know it's distance not time :(
