I don't know that much about them. I've seen some called mini and some called maxi mini. I get the impression the minis go 2 inches and the maxis 5. Someone will know. It's Reef Central!
There are maxi-minis, that get approximately 5 inches across. And then there are mini-minis that stay less than two inches. I only have the maxi-minis. They both are classified as Stichodactyla tapetum; however, they are likely different species. The maxis aren't known to be prolific cloners, although some people report they have observed this. The minis are known to divide regularly. The maxis can be fragged without issue from what I've read, although I haven't tried it myself.
Here is my maxi mini. I love it, but my wife doesn't She wants one with more color like purple, red, deep blue like we have seen online. Oh well. Still looking for them. I want my sand bed covered in acans and maxi's. It has since moved (from the rock in the pic) to the sand bed and seems to like its new home. Now if i can only win the lottery?
