Let's see your rare wrasses!!!!

It was sold to me as a Super Male from PIA. To be honest, the pics are sort of washed out compared to his real colors, in which they are much deeper and richer in person. Not using that argument to say mine is a "super male", but just saying :)

Regardless, its probably the brightest and most colorful fish I've ever seen with my own eyes.

Fairy wrasses tend to be very passive in small tanks you will get fighting unless you add like 2 at a time. You could be fine with no Fighting with like 3 pairs of wrasses. Up in this thread I see someone has like 4 different species of wrasse with no fighting.

I probably have almost 20 diff. species of wrasse in my 450g, with no fighting...some pairs/harems...but most end up turning male

Nice, thats gorgeous Brett. I plan to get one for my tank as well sometime in the future.

They brought in the pair, and 2 submales. I got one of the submales and the other just sold last night I believe.

I haven't received him yet, he is supposed to be on a plane thursday night to SLC. I'll pick him up friday morning.

Terminal male is the more accurate term for super male which is an industry thing for a selling point. A terminal male would be on top of the hierarchy on the reef of their harem (there can be multiple harems on the same reef) These males will have the brightest colors and are usually the biggest. Certain fairies will start to dim or drab out when there is no displaying going on between them and potential mates (this is why the brightest males are terminal males - they attract more females) - much like a peacock !

Lineatus are one of the few who will remain with the colors with or w/o a female. Scotts or exquisites are notorious for becoming drab over time without females or other males present.

+1...IMO/E...it would be hard to find ANY male wrasse, in ANYONE's tank, (vendor, or hobbiest), that the owner does not describe as a SUPER MALE.
Apparently we are not satisfied with a 'beautiful' wrasse, and find it necessary to proudly tell everyone (most of whom, really couldn't care less) that it's a SUPER male!
When my GF asks why, some of my fish cost so much, I just tell her that I only buy SUPER fish!

I, agree, with, that. Super, male, sounds, so, much, better.
