Cool. Thanks Jesse. I still haven't seen your tank. :)

Not too much to see yet. Filled just before Christmas and most of the rock cooked off so had to reseed. Coraline just starting to show up.

The bird is still here too.

Very interesting that you kept the eggcrate in there...haven't seen too many people do it that way. Is that a permanent thing, or just temporary?

I have about 8 frags on plugs that I haven't set in place yet. Most are monties and I'll figure out placement later.

TJ, that tang is a pig!!!!

(off topic) Also by the looks of that sound system you can make waves while listening to your fav. movie. what brand are those. i just helped my g/f dad put in bose system sounds real nice.

Speakers are Mission with a JBL sub. Reciever a Pioneer Elite. Samsung blur ray. Vizio plasma. I'm an audio snob, and a geek!!!!!!!

how many watts you pounding out with the sub. the pioneer recevior i had was a little older one probly from 99' ran car subs off it for the longest time in my room had enough power to run those. im more into car audio my mom is battleing me to let me put in 3 15" with a capacerter and 3 600 watt amps. in the back of are car. but i might just save all the equipment becouse i might be geting a suv as soon as i pass my test in june. have you ever heard of a sub called a jackhammer its used in concert setups its loud enough to burst your ear drums at 1/4 power at 2 secounds of sound time. my freinds dad has one laying in the basement i might pick that up for my house. ( no way im playing that to lound)

Ok, so I got a digital and got a couple shots of the Octopus tank. Its a prety cheap camera, so the colors aren't perfect..
I made a few recent trades so I got a chance to rearrange and give it a good cleaning.
The shell in the breeder net is my octo's old den and is currently holding 20ish eggs, and the little ones are starting to show color in the eggs!! I cant wait!!
Let me know what you think

Octopi are too cool.
I kind of like the low rockwork, it's a nice change from the common great wall. what about grouping it into some 'coral heads' with sand space between for a reef flat kind of effect?

Thats about what I am shooting for. You cant see it well in the pic but there is a large open sand space directly below the breeder net. I want to get it broken into 2 larger areas on the sides and a smaller zoa island in the middle, but I still have a few trades going in and out this week before I can get it settled for good.

Haha, I'm one of those trades!

I was wondering what your tank looked like since you posted about those eggs... I though octo's liked a lot of rockwork to hide in?

...wait a minute...

Does your signature really say you have over 3,000 gallons in freshwater tanks?!? Post those babies up too!

For the first question, yes Octo's like to have a den/rockwork but it is proportional to the size of the octo. My female pygmy topped out at 4" tip to tip so her favorite den was the 3" shell that you can see in the breeder net.
For the second question.. Yes I really have 3000+ gallons of freshwater. About half of it is made up of my front yard koi pond during the summer. During the winter many of the fish I like better or that are young, come in and get a tank and bring my indoor up to just about 3100 gallons, till the water hits 50 degrees in the pond. I moved a lot of the koi back out about a week ago. I do keep a very rare strain of goldfish called 'wakin' which are a Japanese dual tail goldfish that grow to 24"-30" but grow very slowly. To the best of my knowledge I have the second highest number of these in the US at 26, second only to the one breeder here in the states. I still have the wakin's inside with a few others.
The fish are just the tip of the iceberg.. So I think I will just skip to a photo montage of the entire family as it stands today(except the groundhog who was a side of the road rescue when his mom got hit last year.. just sorta neat). If you cant see everyone clearly you should be able to save the JPG and enlarge it with windows picture/fax viewer without too much distortion.
Let me know what you think of our :D little :D clan.
PS.. this is minus the rescue animals that we take in and re-home.
