They need to be fertilized. If the slug is fairly new then they may have been fertilized before you got it. Otherwise they won't hatch and may in fact be a bad sign. Lots of sea slugs instinctively start putting effort into reproduction when times get tough for them. It's sort of a last ditch attempt to spread their genes before they die and they don't seem to realize the eggs have no chance of surviving.
