I have the control kit, Optical one. I have two sensors.

I use one of them for top-off using Profilux advance delay on and off timers, really do not need 2, use the programming for this.
The other one is use to shutoff the skimmer and set a alarm for high level.

Optical is the only way to go, one of the top reason why I went with a Profilux controller.
Its almost maintenance free for months, just wipe the sensor if needed, I have yet to see the need, i just do it, because i need something to do, lol.
