Lexington Reefers?

Hey guys,

I currently live in So Cal but I will be moving to Lexington in August because I got admitted into W&L Law School.

I was wondering how the reefer community is out near Lexington, and if I decide to set up a tank, how practical is it to find someone with RO/DI water, or premixed salt? Or, would I have to get my own RO/DI unit and mix the salt myself.

Im looking forward to meeting some of you out in the South East and getting to see your tanks!

I went to W&L undergrad, and get back every now and again. Have you actually been to Lexington? It's quite a small town. Your closest bet is going to be Roanoke, and even then I don't imagine you're going to have anything resembling what you're accostomed to in S. CA. I would plan on being fairly self-sufficient, and maybe even hold off on reefkeeping until your first year of law school is over. Both are time consuming endeavors.

Congrats on getting into w&l. It is a great school from what I hear. I live in the Lexington area and am very familiar with our local pet store. Anthony the owner, loves saltwater and has a small saltwater section, but has always been happy to order anything that I have needed. He sells saltwater by the Gallon as well as ro/di. The store is Lexington pet world. I have not used his water since I make my own.

If you need any help finding something in the area when you arrive let me know. There is a member on here, dadyoj21, Jorge. He is located about 70 min. from Lexington, he has the most beautiful tanks and is always willing to frag stuff at fantastic prices.

Michael
