Hey all, so turns out that iv been waiting for three months while my tank build is coming together for bulkheads that are not available anymore. Talked to multi stores and manufactures and they no longer make 1.25 bulkheads (slip slip)

If anyone has them and looking to make some money. Contact me. Id love to keep my plumbing look as simple as possible.

What is the size of the hole in your tank?

None so far. I was lucky enough to not pre-drill without actually having hardware in hand. My return pump is a 1.25 inch return. I really dont want to drill a 1.5 bulkhead then have reducers.

Actually this is one of the reasons why i want to do a pizza night, i want some ideas on how people do large tank returns. I WISH they made larger loc-line than 3/4 inch. Maybe i should make another post on how people do their returns for larger tanks. Should i just have a 1.5 inch section going into the tank and a 45 degree elbow to point down?

I like my sea swirls for returns.

I do like the idea of it however its hard for me to justify 450$ for the 1.5 inch model. Also not sure how much random flow this adds, since my tank will be a peninsula tank which is only 24 inchs wide. (meaning the over flow is in the center and there really isn't a lot of space next to it)

with that said, i was thinking just simple (but mine would be coming from a bulkhead on the end of the tank)

Actually something more this. Have it stretched the entire length of the 7 foot tank

What return pump are you using for this tank? What is your interest in keeping 1.25" pipe through the whole of the return other than not wanting to use a bushing?

Just my opinion but I wouldn't worry about a reducer somewhere in the plumbing, either to take 1.25 inch down to 1 inch right out of the pump, that's what I did on the same pump, or to reduce a 1.5 inch bulkhead to run the rest at 1.25.

Also I might suggest slip to thread on the bulkhead. I like that because I can adjust the pipes/change the plumbing without having to cut out the bulkhead. But like I said, just my thoughts on it.

That seems like the plan now. Seems like there's no 1.25 bulkheads. Ill just do 1.5 bulkheads running to the tank. Then from the (inside of the tank) go from 1.5 to 1 inch to get more pressure and build a return nozzle out of PVC.
