at one point our tank was littered with these astrina stars, since then we introduced a harlequin shrimp, man this thing is beautiful, he ate most of the population in no time, so i am looking for a means to feed his appetite
If you have the nerve for it, you can keep a couple of Chocolate Chip stars in your sump and cut off an appendage once a week for your shrimp. The reason you keep more than one is you can alternate between them. I haven't done this, but have read about it on numerous threads.

hmmmm, wonder if the appendage just snap off or you really got to work the knife thru, pretty sure my wife wont allow, but I am going to ask anyways just to see her expression, hehehe, thanks for the advice
don't think we can get to the shrimp, we always break something when we stick our hand into the tank as it is soo small. to bad ur so far, I would buy some!
actually he is well feed now he is quite amazing, for the first time i seen him surf the current from one rock island to the other, must of used claws as sails!
