Yes, to get a consistent amount of skim mate. The ELOS I have is decent, but me needs moe skimate.

As soon as i get around to hooking up my new skimmer I will have the body of a geo becket style skimmer. No pump included. This thing does pull some nasty gunk, but with the planned system upgrades I am afraid it will be maxed out so i purchased a SRO5000-EXT. From what I have gathered in speaking with George at GEO and the guy I bought it from it is good for a ~250g system.

I know you said external but I have a reef octopus dcs 200 or 250 can't remember. But I just took it offline and it's in vinegar now. Comes with a neck cleaner and the ro large waste locker with float switch and delay box.
