Just got the newer marine version Hanna checker for Christmas.
I will admit that I got it on sale and used a coupon... (BRS sometimes runs sales on them and I had it sitting in my cart for a while so they sent a $5 off 50 coupon.)
Pro: fast results in simple easy to read style.
no conversions
It seems consistent
the 2 times I have run tests with it the first result matched the second test both times I have used it (4 tests total 2 on each vile). For what its worth I ran it at the same time as ELOS test kits and got very similar results.
Con:
I think there are only reagents for 25 test before you need a refill.
Its expensive to the point where I wouldn't buy it if it wasn't on sale.
I have a question. I got the same for Christmas. Black Friday special. 35.00 each. When the 3:00 minute timer is over do u press and hold black button or just press it once. Mine keeps resetting before I can get a read.
I am not sure we have the same meter. Could you be thinking of the PO4 or PH meter? I never had a 3 minute timer on the Hanna dkh meter. I pressed once to turn it on. Then again after the loading a water sample to zero out the meter. Then once more after taking the vile out and putting reagent in the vile. The reading took less than 20 seconds after pushing the button the 3rd time.
To be clear I was talking about this meter:

Ahh... I cannot speak to that oneYou are correct. I got that one too but was talking about the green one for ph.

I've been using Red Sea for about 1.5 years now. I have noticed the last two refills are much harder to read than the first kit I purchased was. I'm convinced something has changed.
