LF Nano Aquarium and ADVICE!

Hey there,

Ok, after a couple years off, I'm ready to start dipping my toes back in the water.

I'm definitely a nano person, and I want to stay under 30g. My big question I'd like input on is this:

Is it better to start with a used system while slowly piecing together my "dream" tank... or just hold off entirely until I have everything for my dream tank?

I know there are pros and cons, but any advice & suggestions are welcome. I'm still on the fence.

This dream tank of mine is the JBJ rimless biotope aquarium. Not being a good DIYer (not is the hubby), I like the AIO concept, and my last tank was a biocube and I really liked it except for the hood. Soooo, this JBJ rimless looks perfect for what I want.

Do any of you have any experience with the JBJ rimless?

For lighting, I'd like something I can clamp on. Suggestions for that? Right now I'm looking at the JBJ Unibody LED and the Ecoxotic Panorama housing with the modules. Any other similar lights I should look at?

Thanks so much, and hope to see you at a MARS meeting soon!

:D

Forgot to mention, for lighting requirement purposes... I'll be keeping primarily zoas and rics with some LPS.

If a nano just do a dream tank. I like some of the new IM tanks.
Honestly lighting was a big issue that being for a 5gal nano paying for a nano light was crazy. Now the the hydra 26 and Ecotech have smaller lights that are perfect !

The new Red Sea 130c that I have is really good and reasonably priced but it's 34 gallons, everything in it is overkill and the lights are just good enough to do most sps high up if you want, currently I have one piece and it is doing really good and I've heard of other people doing really well

Innovative marine has great nano aio tanks

Yeah, I've looked at some of theirs. Do you know how the quality compares to JBJ?

Also adding the option of a kessil on the gooseneck into the mix for lighting. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on that?

EcoTech or AI have options that are good. Your Reef has AI 26's hung on a few of their frag tanks. I prefer EcoTech but you should look at all and make your choice. ;)
