LF Small Tanks

I have a friend, who is a grade school teacher :reading:, that asked me to help her set up a fish tank :fish2: in her classroom. I told her I have a pump, overflow, small sump, small skimmer, and a lot of small dry rock she can use if she is serious. She has a $200 classroom budget per semester to use...

Does anyone have a small tank (Less than 40 but maybe greater than 10) they want to get rid of cheap? I don't think the kids will mind scratches too much. They will most likely put a few scratches in it themselves.

I think I have a light for it if the tank she gets is at least 36 inches long. If it is smaller then I may be looking for a cheap reliable LED fixture too. Something that won't have to change bulbs on but will still grow soft corals and maybe a nem.

Let me know if you see any garage sale deals around this summer.

I have a plain old 39 gallon tank that's been sitting empty in a closet, it's free if you want it

Ive got a pretty nice ART 30 gallon. Its 30” by 18” x12” tall center overflow. I can do tank, stand, iquatics light rack, and coralife LED light (brand new self controlled, low wattage).

$150 for the school

I've got lots of dry rock sitting around that I can donate. Some big stuff if they want a piece or two. I've also got a few rocks in my tank that I'm willing to send their way if they want to seed it that way.

I think I will eventually need 3-5 good sized "aquascaping" rocks. Thank you!

I have 29 gallon (30x12x18) that needs a good cleaning. Held water when my kid broke it down a while back. No stand though.
Have some smaller (and older) Korallia powerheads also, and probably a smaller heater.
Softies, and a RBTA when it's ready.
All free for a classroom.

I'd think there'd be enough unused equipment among us to get the tank up, running, and stocked, if not for free, close to it.

That sounds great. I think I have the tank covered. I am picking it up tomorrow. I don't have any spare powerheads for her so that would be great and a heater would help too because I am not sure if the one I have as a spare works.

Building or at least starting the stand build this weekend. Going with at room divider peninsula style stand. I was just going to do a standard wooden box frame slightly wider than the tank for extra stability. Then a separate taller cabinet on one end much like sweatyirishmen1 's build. After I get both done I was just going to screw them together on site later for easier transportation. If you have any build plan or step by step thread links that you think I should see post them here.
