LF: Stomatella snail?

Hey everyone- I've got a 5gal pico, and had a stomatella snail that was one of my faves, and cleaned everything. Anyway, I was giving my pumps a little vinegar bath recently to clean out some gunk, and hadn't realized the little guy was attached. Suffice it to say, he didn't make it through the bath and has moved on to the great snail heaven in the sky.

So I was wondering if anyone has an extra stomatella snail available?

I think they are awesome little guys! Super active for me (as active as snails can be.):lol:

I must admit, I seem to grow them like crazy in my smaller 29 gallon tank. I love them, but my wife hates the look of them. They do seem to have "personalility".

Wow, Buckeye! That's about as far from my house you can get, and still be in the valley. I may not be able to make it out that far for a snail. Thanks for offering doublejhunter. :wavehand:

i had tons in my 10 gallon and after i transfered to my 20 long i didnt see many. i'm finally starting to see more. i'll check tomorrow when the lights come on and see if i can find a couple for you. i seem to have lots of babies all of a sudden. oh and i'm in tempe off of priest and elliot

I wanted to thank bdevillier for being generous with a couple stomatella snails. I am curious though, do stomatellas eat hair algae? I had a small rock covered with it. I had tried multiple ways to get rid of it, including peroxide. Nothing worked. The day after the stomatella intro, half the rock was clean, as if there had never been hair algae in the first place. Next night, another 1/3 of the rock was clear, and as of this morning, the rock is clean. I also, started using chemipure elite a couple weeks ago, so I wonder if the nutrient balances were finally tipped in my favor? Is it coincidence after adding the snail my hair algae dissapeared, or are stomatellas hair algae warriors?

hey no problem. shortly after you left the night crew came out and there was at least a dozen large ones and tons of babies. i've never seen mine go after hair algae. i have a small patch that has been untouched for a few weeks.
