Lfs-aa

I see on the list of LFS that Aquarium Art got a big ole thumbs up. but I went in there at lunch today to get some pricing and gather info to try and decide what size tank I want to upgrade to and not one person of teh 3 I saw working there asked if they could help me or answerd any questions I might have while I wandered around the tanks for a good 20 minutes. I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Hello,
IMO customer service at most LFS can be hit or miss.
If you decide to try AA again ask for Kingsley. He is a huge wealth of info, plus he owns the place.

Matt

I'm thrilled when i walk in a place and i don't get chased down by the staff. I prefer to ask when i need help, especially if i'm just looking.

I have bought most of my my livestock and a few pieces of equipment there, and i always got great service and very healthy fish.

I'm not saying I want to be bombarded like I'm at a car dealership, but when I stand there in front of 2 people who are talking about 'the girl they hired that just begged to be and then didn't show up' and they don't stop talking to ask me if I need anything or even say Hi, I'm annoyed. It may not be the store, just the people they hired. Who knows, just saying I wasn't that impressed.

why do people just stand in a place expecting someone to ask you for help. why is it so hard to say "Hey can I get some help?"

Who knows maybe they thought you were just listening since you were standing there and didn't say anything.

I think your experience in ANY store would be much improved if you took that outlook.

AA is one of my favorite stores. I would encourage you to bring your grievances to either Greg or Kingsley. They will both do thier best to make things right.

AA is one of my fav stores also...i think they have great prices esp. corals.
i try to stop in every week.

I don't like people bugging me when I'm just looking around. I always have to keep saying "just looking", then when I'm ready I seek someone out and get help that way.

I went to AA for the first time to get my Dragons while wondering the tanks I was asked once if I needed help from a young lady I told her no. I then went back to the dragon tank and stoof there for a good 30 minutes picking out my dragon pair and it took me about another 15 minute to get one of them within ear shot to catch them for me. But I'd go back just speak up don't be rude but speak up. IMO

I went back in to the store this weekend and had a much differerent perception of the place. Now to see what store comes in with the best price for a new tank:-)

I had the same situation happen with About the Reef. But after the third visit, it is like I am part of their family. Walk in the door, Skip greets me by name and all is good

I only step foot in ATR if I have nowhere else to go. One bad apple can ruin it all. I have tried several times with no luck. And I am not the only one who feels that way. You would think that these stores would realize that customer service is the only way to get repeat customers. Although I know some of us are overly addicted and will buy our crack supplies from the worst dealers just to get a fix. LOL
