LFS in Franklin moving???

Personally I would rather support the Only Store that actually pay's It's Bills! After 2 Failed Locations (Bailing On Leases) That they Aggreed to, Not Paying Suppliers that gave them Credit and in General Rip Off Prices on everything they sell I will pass on this Location and wish everyone would stop giving them free advertising!
Mods Please close this thread as It Is commercial in nature without support to this site.

I was at the old store and bought my aquariums through them and have visited them several times in the past year or so. While they did seem to be using trickle filters etc, the place and the tanks were very clean and the coral looked great. I am glad to hear they have more dry goods now. The staff and owner were very helpful with any questions. I can't, of course, speak to leases, but since we have so few reef supporting stores at all, I am inclined to support them whenever possible.

Not Familiar with you?? Are you New to the Area and Have you joined MTRC yet as that is where you will find Good Quality Advice about this hobby! Not from that store as they know very little Correct Information and Give Bad advice to people all the time, Just to make a Sale.
This is a Free Country and you can support who you want, But I highly reccomend other Stores over this one.

Thank you for responding. Actually, I have been around the area almost 30 years. I find my best advice from actual research, but I also believe the LFS is an important marker to how well the hobby is doing in the area. I also frequent Ebay and Critter and I can't say that FINs is actually better or worse than the others at this point in time. Critter has a larger assortment, but very little time for individual support and are somewhat curtailed hardware selection. I suspect this is price-point based rather than lack of knowledge of the industry. Ebay has recently moved farther away from where I live so I haven't seen them in a while, but when they were in Bellevue (great guys), they had a much larger selection of coral in many sizes, but had quite a few cleanliness issues related to algae, aptasia, etc. But, given the price and a quarantine tank, worth it. Also, for their size they had a great selection of equipment and live rock. FINs, I would say is somewhere in the middle.

I have to say aside from specific equipment, I haven't taken advice from and LFS, for over 30 years. There is a very simple reason for this; conflict of interest. In other words I really don't expect the LFS to be able to give me advice (though they could and should be able to help people just beginning) because generally, on a day-to-day basis they are not going to be running their tanks the way I would and if the need arises they will be able to completely tear down a tank and replace everything in it to make a particular tank a marketable to their customers. To the extent that critter sponsors groups, clubs etc, this is great thing and ideally would be a joint effort for all the local LFSs

As for me and joining, I have never been joiner, but I do occasionally check out the forums either for a particular interest or more likely skim new comer threads to help if I can. But, one never knows; I may change.

Well we actually have a lot in common then, As I have been in the Area for around 22 years and Reefing for many more. I only in the last 5 years became active in the club and find that Sharing your knowledge is satisfying to say the least. Coming from a State that had Lots of Quality LFS (Ca) It is very hard to accept the few Stores that we do have here but I personally will not support dishonest, Even if well intended stores that most suppliers have cut off from even selling to these people due to not paying for inventory they ordered and sold! It will run it's course and they will be gone soon enough in Time they will be in the same situation that caused the loss of their previous locations, Of this I am sure.
