LFS in Memphis.

I'll be in town this weekend and I'm looking for somethings for my 12g AP HQI. So I was wondering where everyone recommends shopping at? I'm basically looking for refugium related stuff-clip on light, chaeto, LR rubble. Possibly a nano skimmer that will fit the AP 12.

I know of:

Kermit's Reef
Something Fishy-(Whitten Road)

I've also heard of several others but never visited any of them. I'll have plenty of time to kill while my wife and sister in law are at the WC Galleria.

Thanks

Memfish is a new store just recently opened up. They will look after you very well also. Very knowledgeable folks and a nice selection of dry goods and livestock

Yeah I have done some trading with Rendos and Craig years ago when Rendos lived in Jackson.

I tried PMing Rendos about the store but I never got a reply as to wheter it was open or not-I suppose it is........great!

I'll check em out-how's their selection/prices?

Good overall selection IMO. I was very impressed with the coral and invert prices. Often lower than online places which is pretty awesome for any LFS.

Kermit's is always a good place as well. They always have a nice selection of fish and corals.

I have to second dzones except I'd consider the selection so-so for the size of the store. But the reason for that is Richard's prices can't be beat. He is open. I'd highly recommend going to all 3 stores that have been mentioned (Kermit's, Something Fishy, and Memfish). They're all within 20 minutes driving, and you said you had the time.

If you really feel like driving, there's a 4th store, Ocean Environments, in Atoka. At least a 30 minute drive up HW 51. I was just in there this afternoon, and they're still recovering from electrical/heat issues they had last summer. I wouldn't recommend the drive right now, but in a few more months it should be worth considering.

Dave,
When you live in the desert of the reefing community like I do you think anything saltwater much less REEF related is fun. Even if it is in Memphis.

Later,

Well I just have to say that Memfish is a VERY nice store that is well stocked with corals, drygoods, and fish. Very much worth the drive to Memphis. And it was good to see Rendos again even though he was very busy on Saturday....lol.

Kermit's was as always very well stocked also- they always seem to have the most awesome live rock I've ever seen-where do they get that stuff from?? Dave?? Made really glad I didn't own a larger tank....$$$

And of course Something Fishy was just ok-went there looking for a Hydor Flo and the lady informed me they were "Wal-Mart quality items" Nice selection of fish, corals, and drygoods but way overpriced IMHO.

So all in all I had a nice day killin time and checking out the Memphis scene.
