I know of two LFS here in the Huntsville area, Lucy's Lagoon and The Aquarium Shop. Are there any others? And which do you prefer?

Thanks,

Dave

Coral Reef Aquatics is my favorite, followed by Lucy's Lagoon. I don't like the Aquarium Shop at all, sorry if I offend anyone by saying so;)

Anywho, John Newby owns Coral Reef Aquatics, which is right past Madison, off of University. His number is 256-604-9773 for specific directions. He's only open on the weekends, last I checked.:) I know he will open thru the week if you call ahead and ask him, if possible.

Johns place is the only place I go now. The aquarium shop is nice and has a lot of fish but mostly freshwater stuff and only two small tanks of corals. Lucy's Lagoon is pretty nice, freindly people and a lot of corals and fish (all salt water), but they smoke in their store which turned me off and sent me out the door, couldn't breath at all. Coral Reef Aquatics (John's) is very nice. He has everything in (large) display tanks so its easy to see a d you get an isea of what it will look like in your tank. He keeps it very clean which makes it more pleasurable to hang out than the others. He is only open on the weekends but hey - it makes me budget :) He is planning on opening in the week though soon.

Found this on google:

Coral Reef Aquatics

Does it sound right? How about store hours:)

Thanks, i will definately check it out this weekend. Does the prices online are same in store? Is his website updated?

Pretty much so. If it is different just tell him what he has it for online.

Most of us on here go there sometime during the weekend. See you there :)

You know it would be nice if they would make this one a sticky, So as new reefers getting started or people traveling through would know what stores are in our area. I like knowing the addresses and phone no. and their hours and link if they have one.
What do you think? We have request for this information quite often.

I think it will be very helpful. I agree with making it sticky.

Thanks for all the replies!! Coral reef Aquatics must be just down the road from where I am now. I am right beside E. Limestone High School. I will call and get directions this weekend. Thanks again.

I don't mind having this as a sticky, but we need to keep this updated occasionally. Things change quickly around here. We have lost a number of stores in recent years. I don't know if Lucy's is going to be around for another year.

On a side note, I am hoping to establish a new simple NARC website which will be maintained frequently. It should have a monthly meeting announcement page and another page for member information plus links to sponsor/shop website. What do you all think? (Sorry, I don't mean to highjack this thread.)

Tomoko

Tomoko - That sounds nice. I did a google search when I first started and found the old NARC site but it wasn't much to look at and so I wasn't that interested. When I found you all on here it was much nicer and easy to talk to everyone. If you want any help on making a page just ask me.

Can we link it to RC as well?
