LFS in Roanoke??

Hey Folks!

Could anyone tell me where the good LFS are in Roanoke. You guys all use abbreviations like HOC & UA, and I don't know what they stand for. Need to buy some LR, and would like to see what the local area has to offer. THanks in advance for any help you can offer. BTW, looking to buy in next week or two ~ 50-75lbs, or may just order online. Would rather see what's here first..

Hey, welcome to the area. There are a few different stores in the area , but the only one that I would recomend is Ultimate Aqauriums in Salem. They have great stock , Great prices. As far as the adress I am not sure of that , It is behind the Sheetz in Salem , I am sure someone here could give you the adress. There is also A shop in Blacksburg Thatis ZooQuatic. which is a bit further away. Again welcome and feel free to drop any of the local board members a PM.

Elizabeth, UA is Ultimate Aquarium a very good saltwater store in Salem Va. About 50 miles from where you live. HOC is the online name of Chris {good guy} the owner of UA. Hours are 3 - 7 Tuesday to Friday and 10 - 6 on Saturday. The address is 1401 southside Dr. Salem Va. You won't be disappointed. There is also Petworld in Lexington, another 50 mile drive for you . Owner is Anthony a really good guy. 390 East Midland Trail Lexington Va. Oh and if you are ever in Richmond Va, 140 miles from you. You have to check out Atlantis Aquariums Inc. Marvin another good guy is the owner there. 10619 Patterson Ave Richmond Va. Watch on Reef Central to come to a meeting in the Roanoke forum and in the New river Valley Forum. Good times. Good Luck. THanks guys! This is great information - exactly what I am looking for. I am going to try to go see Chris at Ultimate Aquariums either tomorrow night or the next. Maybe I will see if I can't hit a couple of these other stores while I'm out that way. Sounds like a fun weekend day too, survey all the LFS in the Roanoke/Blacksburg/Salem area....

Hopefully I can make it to the meeting. Y'all go ahead and make up your minds when you are going to have it, would'ja??
