LFS in Simi

Hi,
I'm coming form Colorado to visit a friend in Simi Valley. I heard that all the cool stuff gets bought up in SoCal and that the rest of us get your left overs. Anyways, I was wondering if there was a LFS in Simi that has some cool zoos.

not to sure about Simi, however, if your willing to drive I hear http://www.reefermadness.us/contacts.htm is good (by appointment only). Jeffs Exotic not bad at all. http://www.aquaticoutlet.com/ hit or miss, but huge store. Im my experience, every city has a nice LFS setup, however, you have to be at the shop hours after stock arrives to get premium choice and then it's all gone! The LFS do have drop shipments direct from wholesalers in LA Ports and direct from over seas, but you have to call ahead and find out when next shipment arrives. You have to do homework.

Well, I live in Simi and I can tell you that there are only two very mediocre fish stores in Simi that sell saltwater livestock. One is Pete's tropical fish and the other is Simi Tropical Fish. Pete's is the larger of the two and has more of a coral selection, although limited (and generally the health of the livestock is poor IME), and Simi Tropical is a tiny store with a likewise tiny coral selection.

To be honest, it would be much more worth your time to go out of Simi a few minutes drive and go to either Tat's Tropical in Thousand Oaks (about a 10-15 minute drive from Simi), or better yet go to Aquarium City in the San Fernando Valley (which is about a 15-20 minute drive from Simi). There are other stores in the San Fernando Valley that are good as well, ie. Rainbow, Vivid, Mark's, Aquarium City, but they are a bit more of a drive from Simi.

Let me know if you need directions to any of the stores mentioned above.

HTH.

go to Aquarium City , Vivid, Marks,Making Waves and Rainbow but it would be my last choice, there all located in San Fernando valley

Is Tat's Tropical in thousand oaks like Fins and Fangs that used to be in T.O.?
Benny

No, different shopping mall than Fins and Fangs used to be. If I remember correctly, Fins and Fangs used to be off of Avenida de los Arboles in the shopping mall by the DMV.

Tat's is off Janns Rd. exit of the 23 fwy, make a right, then go to Moorpark Rd. make a left and then it's in the shopping mall on the left-hand side.
