LFS - Who is Good???

Saltwater Junkies has supported my classroom tanks and have a great store. They are at 101 and Olive in the west valley.

If your in Sun city SWJ is definitely your best bet, awesome store and the only one that far west....Billy and Justin are both great people over there. As you head east it really depends on what your looking for, some stores are well rounded, some have better coral or fish etc.

Discount
Mas Frags
Club Reef
LE Corals
CoralReef Imports(for colonies and large frags)

There are others I cant speak for as I havent had a chance to stop by, mostly due to how far east they are.

What about east side stores? I live by Kona, and have always visited Aquarium Arts and reef culture, but is there anything newer near the 101 on the east side now this is worth checking out?

I like Kona Reef. I'm really close to Aqua Touch, but over the summer, their frag tanks were pretty rough (lots of algae and looked neglected) , but on a more recent visit, they seemed to have cleaned it up (never mind that one of the employees told a customer that a damsel would be okay in a tank with seahorses :debi: )

Kona Reef is my preference, but I'm itching to check out Saltwater Junkies and maybe make a day out of those East side stores :)

Reef Monster
The Pet Shop
Club Reef
Limited Edition Corals

Epic Ocean
Coral Reef Imports

These are all on the East Side. I've made purchases from the top 4 and was impressed with the bottom 2 they just didn't have what I wanted at the time but quality was there. Coral Reef Imports had some really nice colony sized corals at good prices.

Check the hours for each as they are different and the last one opens at 3pm I think.

You guys are awesome!! I'll be heading to SWJ today to check them out. Used to shop About the Reef back when they were awesome...it's really sad to see a store like that go to @$%%*& and then just fall off the face of the earth. I actually purchased corals just to save them from the horrible conditions.

East side Coal Reef Imports has the best selection of actual colonies. And the best selection of euphillia in the valley. MAS FRAGS not on the west side but that store had a great selection of acans and mushrooms and zoas. Also great selection on hard goods.

I have found that aqua touch will drop stock and maintenance in the summer but picks up again the non summer months (I believe we get two seasons, summer and non summer :))

They may be true because I was shocked at how awful the tanks (mainly the frag tanks) looked, but like you mentioned, they did look better on a more recent visit. :)

I have been the most happy with LE corals. Everything is high quality and everything has been quarantined. I have shopped at all the stores listed with the exception of saltwater junkies.

Just got back from Fins and Friends. I had called them a couple of weeks ago looking for Chalk Bass. They called me yesterday to let me know that they got them in. Went and picked them up today. Fish are now in a QT tank and look very healthy.

So I've been to SWJ twice...love the people! The owners and Justin are wonderful, very helpful. Made some great finds on live rock, very nice colors, thick with coraline. Pricing seems fair, but have not been shopping for swf for two years so I don't know how they compare.
