Lifereef skimmer?

This is Greg i am relatively new the only person that owuld know me is Greg from Gateway Aquatics but

i was curious if i should buy a used LifeReef VS-24 skimmer with a Mag 9 pump for $100 good deal?

this will be used on a 120g tank. in the 55g sump. currently not set up yet. this will be my first tank and i was looking into a good deal on a skimmer for it.

2 things I wish I never did.

1. Skimp on lighting
2. Skimp on skimming.


Both of these things have become very expensive as I always want to upgrade them. Should've just started out with good things.

yea thats why i went straight to two 250w MHs with 14K bulbs. so im set for this tank basically forever i figure. right?
and my flow rate in the tank is huge with a Seio 2600 and a Seio 1500 but i may loook into an 820 eventually.
and the skimmer, i want to get a good one used because i cant afford a new, good, skimmer

and read up on it. The VS2-24 is rated for a 250gal tank. Once you get it dialed in, it's practically set-it and forget-it. I only cleaned it about once a month, and it gave me less hassle than the Coralife Super Skimmer 225.

Feel free to take my post with a grain of salt if you wish, since I'm the one selling it.

I would buy it without hesitation. I used the Lifereef sump/skimmer on my old 120g (now at my best friend's house) with excellent results. It is set and forget, but does best with regular cleanings If you don't clean it, then it builds up about a 1/2" of muck on the inside of the skimmer neck...smells really bad.

You can not go wrong with a Lifereef product.

make sure it's the in sump model if you're well......putting it in the sump.

im sure this thread seems harsh to you since you are selling it but im sorry i just really wanted to know
and i did go to the page but you cant listen to a company on their own products usually. i knew it would work gallon size wise but other than that i didnt know if it was good and i hate to make you feel like i dont trust you but im just not good at the skimmer thing so i wanted others opinions sorry for any offense.
also i would like to pick it up today if you read this first. so PM me and let me know. i should be getting it my mom is deciding (she is helping pay for it) so yea ill get back to you ASAP hopefully ill have it by today!

yea after i bought it i cleaned it real good with a tooth brush and this other brush he gave me with it.
