what role if any does light play in the growth & development of anaerobic denirtifying bacteria?

will light help, hinder or have no effect?

anaerobic denitrifying bacteria are chemoheterotrophs so they do not use light as phototrophs do. Best to grow/ keep filter in the dark not the light so that they do not have to compete with phototrophs.

that was my fear im trying to use slow flow through tubing to create an anaerobic zone, i wanted to use black poly flow but the only thing available was clear vinyl tubing.
