Light for anemones?

Justing looking for a little help here.

I understand the MH are best for most anemones, however I have a 6 bulb T-5 system 10,000 3 daylight 3 blue.

I have a had a Tube anemone in the tank for over 4 months doing great. Is there any others that I can put in my 75Gal tank with this lighting.

ive seen people that kept rose bta's under pcs and vho's with no problems. a friend of mines keeps his lta under t5 in his 75g. it streatches over 12 inches. i think seabae anemones do well under t5's and vhos also.

how many watts are your new lights? do you like the color that 10k t5s output along with the actinics?

I kept RBTAs under pc's and they did just fine. They even grew and split on me. I have sinced upgraded to MH and they don't seem to be thriving as well as before. Not dying, but not growing like mad either.

I have kept haddoni's, lta's, and bta's under 4 (yes) 4 T5's. I use a sun or a 3k horticulture bulbs, 1 actinic and 2 blue +'s. Never had a problem except that bta's wander no matter what. Giganteas and Ritteri IME, need alot brighter lights maybe 6-8 overdriven T5's in a shallow tank would do the trick.

Tube anemones are not photosynthetic anemones.

You should be fine with the t5's. I keep my RBTA in a 75 with vho and it is doing great. It has tripled in size since I purchased it. Also, I do not know why everyone say's they roam alot. Mine has not moved from the spot he picked in 5 months. Once they have the right conditions and are happy they will stay put. Good luck..

55semireef, I agree with you about the tube anemone. tube anemones are generally filter feeders that require regular feedings of live or frozen small foods, and an emphasis should be placed on small feedings made as frequently as time will allow. Minimally, feeding several times per week with some krill or shrimp pellets seems to suffice. m000240 you need to make sure to feed your tube anemone for it to continue to thrive...
