Light for qt tank?

I'm going to start my TTM this week and was just wondering if I need to put light on it or go with out one? I have orbit marine light that would sit on top of the tank. Thanks for information

As long as there is ambient light then no need to worry

Ok thanks. Would it hurt having one? Would I have to clean it every time I switch tanks to avoid ich getting on there?

I use lights and keep them dry; but ambient light should be fine.

I always use ambient light. Keeping the tanks dim helps to keep the fish calm and eliminates the need to set up timers, etc...

If you want to use it I wouldn't worry about cleaning it in between. It's not something submerged like a heater, so any spray that it gets on it should dry out fairly quickly.
