Light Mounting Question

Would it be safe to directly mount power compact bulbs to a wooden top with just the reflector between the light and the wood. I will be using 2 4" fans to keep it cool.

I mounted my 2 110 watt VHOs to my wood canopy with only the reflector in between and have never had a problem.

What wattage of light are you using?

Is the Wood sealed or painted?
