Light not shut off

We just get new Apex and the MH that connect to DC4 HD not shut off.

here is our input

Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 09:00 to 17:00 Then ON
If Temp > 80.0 Then OFF
Min Time 015:00 Then OFF

is Min Time 015:00 Then OFF telling it to stay on for 15 mins no matter what? Even we set to manual off it stay on.

That Min Time statement is telling the outlet to stay off for at least 15 minutes before trying to turn back on.

It should not be on if you set it to manual off. Perhaps you have the wrong outlet which is a common mistake.

No, manual control does not honor Min Time. No matter what Manual On and Manual Off are immediate.

For some reason they were not shutting off when they should so I manually set to off and they stayed on still.

I set back to Auto and nothing happened. Went upstairs and came back down to a dark basement.

Manually turned them on and they fired right up. Shut the down and they went off. Maybe my apex was overwhelmed and just had to get caught up

Remember when setting outlet states via the Status web page that you have to click on the UPDATE button to be certain your change happens. With some browsers it's enough just to press ENTER from the outlet state but other browsers don't work that way and you have to press UPDATE at the bottom of the screen.

Also, the screen can possibly refresh between the time you change the outlet status and pressing UPDATE. In that case, the outlet state will have reverted back to what it originally was. You press UPDATE but you've updated nothing - the state is unchanged.

Just some thoughts. It still happens to me is why I mention it!

One other thing. As Ken said, Manual ON/OFF is immediate. However, that may not be the case when you switch back to Auto, it will depend on the code. For example, a Defer or Min Time command will cause a delay.

Thanks everyone, we were clicking update and Update Outlet when programming. It was just not responding when we did it. The controller is responding just fine now though

Update: We got it to repeat itself. If you change more than one MH light to On or Off at one time and click update nothing happens.

If the light is on it will stay on, if the light is off it will stay off.

I turned on the lights to make sure I had them in the right orders. I turned them on one by one. Then on the last one I set that to ON and turned the rest off. Clicked Update on status page and nothing happened. Waited a few minutes and clicked Update again. Now all are set to OFF and the Status pages states they are OFF but the lights of course are ON.

So I set to Auto and clicked update Status still say OFF but lights are still ON.

That's really weird. Are you sure you updated your web pages after you updated your firmware? It's a two step process.

Yes I did and I triple checked it.

Now my T-5's are not shutting off
Note this is only happening on the DC8 and the DC4

Everything on the EB8 is working fine

Yes Todd,

Lunar - D1 Works no issue
DC8 - A1 to A8
DC4 HD - B1 to B4

Would the fact I have it set at A1 be causing an issue? This is exactly how I had it set up on my AC III before

That should work as long as there are no other modules or virtual outlets trying to use the same address and the actual DCx units are set to the correct address as well. One other thing, are the outlet names unique as well?

I read about this issue on another website. it turned out the phone cords used to daisy chain them were too close to a power source. The solution was to get new cables made that were shielded and long enough to go around the power source. Later on they replied saying they just upgraded to all EB8 because there seemed to have an issue with the DCx and the Apex.

Not what you want to hear but that might be the fastest way to solve your issue once and for all.

Yes Todd,

Funny thing is that the T5's worked just fine yesterday. They shut off when they were set to shut off. Turned on this morning no issue. When it was time for them to turn off for their morning rest the controller said they were off but the lights were on.

Left the controller alone and left for a few hours, got home to the T5's still on and the controller saying they are off. Toggled between manual on / off / and auto nothing happened.

Special,
I think I might just take your advice and order a few extra EB8 and get rid of the DCx stuff.

went to my local fish shop last night and we was able to pick up another EB8. the owner ordered it for another customer but the customer never came back after two months. we hooked everything from the DC8 to the EB8 and deleted the DC8.

Programmed the EB8 just like the DC8 was and everything is working just fine.

hooked up the DC8 to the old controller and everything worked as it should.
Weird but it all works now.
