Light Question with fish

Curious about light being on all the time. 8 hours daylight. 1 hour dusk and dawn 4 3 Watt bulbs. 4 Moonlights (1Watt)on for 14 hours. Should there be complete darkness at all?

Personally, I keep the moonlights on for 3 hours only (Reef Tanks)

Both. But note that my moonlights are controllable and are not bright. In the case of fish, since I have mating pairs in both tanks, I wish to simulate the natural mating time and nature of sunset followed by very dim moonlight then darkness.

Should be just fine.
