hi everyone,
i have a 29g bow front and i am in the process of finding and buying my lighting, i am looking for something that i could keep lps and sps... i have narrowed it down between t5ho and leds. mh are to hot. I really like the idea of the leds. I have a lfs that makes there own for 200 i can get 60x1w leds and 275 for 120x1w. he used the meter on the 120 vs his mh system and the led almost doubled the mh at 24" and nearly 5 times 4 inches away(which was something like 1920) what size do you think i should get to meet my needs but not bake my corals? they also have built in fans with 3 switches. Let me know what you all think. if your in the orlando area ocean direct is having them made

My LFS sells similar fixtures. They recommend the 120watt for a 24 x 24 area. So theyre perfect for 60 cubes. I'm guessing you'll be fine with the 60 watt.

Yep. Pretty much same stuff but different wrappers. My LFS offers a 3 year full warranty and also gives a loaner led panel while yours is being fixed. To me that makes it worth it. That gives me 3 years of gauranteed performance. The pricing is similar as well.

Try Marineland LED Reef Capable lighting. Foster and Smith sells them on line and they work great. I have a 75 gallon with lots of corals I like it much better than my past metal halide lights. Cheaper, cooler, and no ballasts to go bad.
