Light Rack Rail System...

Can someone please advise what I need to make a rail system to move my lights? I will be mounting three 250W DE Pendants in an aluminum rack but I need to figure out what parts I need to make a rail system to be able to move the lights.

Best bet is to buy a premade light rail system. Check any hydroponics web site.................they sell them. People are suppose to be doing great using a light rail to grow thier indoor "tomatoes."

I think that it probably would be cheaper in the long run to shell out the $200 & buy a unit that is tried & tested.....

google barn yard door rails. that is how I have my lighting system hooked up. I got mine from Home depot for about 24 for a 8ft system, they you have to buy the wheels which are actually more money than the rails. They are heavy duty and are rated for something like 600lbs. Another idea is to use a pocket door rail, although it would probably be hard to find 10ft system.

Those are the exact same rails as I use from Home depot. I'll try to post pics later on, I'm in the process of upgrading tanks so they are not currently used on my system but they are still hanging from the ceiling out of the way

Or maybe you can get me a link to them on Home Depot's website? That way when I got to Home Depot AGAIN, they won't look at me like I am an idiot when I ask for, "Light Rail System"...:lol: :lol:

Hey Mike, the system I used is made from Stanley Hardware. I got the set up at a local store (The Andersons), but Tractor Supply or any building store should carry something similar. There are a couple other companies that make similar hardware, so just ask for barn door track.
