Light reduction during pest control

I have read about using light reduction in some articles and threads to treat various issues with cyano, and a few other pests. Does anyone know if a person has LED lights such as the Eco Tech Radion LED's and runs them on a program that mimics the natural light time and intensity in the ocean, what would light reduction mean? How would someone go about doing the light reduction to remedy any algae pests or cyano since it is not a matter of just turning a light off and on and the tank is not on high intensity all day and then darkeness? Its on a gradual program morning, high noon and then evening and night. It is an arc and the program I run is called natural reef mode. Anyone know? Is there a built in program for this purpose? Do I just shorten the time on each end of the arch where its intensity is lowest or do I decrease the arc at the high noon time?

One way you could accomplish what you want is to use our Acclimation feature. This will initially reduce the overall intensity of your schedule and ramp up over a desired period. The Acclimation feature is located in the Settings tab of Radion control. Once you enable it, you can select the initial intensity and the duration. If you are curious where you are at in the Acclimation "schedule", simply log into EcoSmart Live on the web and view the purple acclimation line on the graph.

At any point you can disable the Acclimation feature and return to your normally scheduled program.
