I got a MH / T5 retro from Hellolights. Hopefully I can wire it without burning the house down. Guess I didnt read the fine print but the ballast didnt come in an enclosure with a switch as I was expecting. They are just the ballast itself. How do you normally install these? Screw them to the stand and use a timer / switch at the power plugin?

I already have the lights I just am wondering if it is ok to mount the ballast to the inside of my stand. No sump so it wouldn't be exposed to salt.

just make sure you mount the balast on a sheet of steel with a ground wire from each ballast going to a screw that is holding the sheet metal down.
