just a cap that instead of CArbon, you put co2 scrubbing media... airline just compression fits into hole in lid of cap and goes to skimmer air intake...
Now most folks can find the space to do recirculating CO2 scrubbing.

So, I may have made a dumb purchase... Its not that it was a bad idea... just that it doesn't fit in my low-ceilinged basement...

Here I am washing it out... just before I broke-out the pressure washer...

135Gallon water storage container.
I may have someone who will take it locally for what I paid.

rying really hard to install my frag tank while my wife is away on business.... but I need to setup a new space in the basement for kid art storage and move a bunch of stuff around...

It'll be plumbed into my main system. will tie it into the exile tank's drain. its all 1" so it'll be fine. I was going to take down the exile tank but I may as well leave it for the dragon wrasse and hopefully a breeding pair of cardinals.

Although the MKI Kalk stirrer I made works great, The lack of a 'window' *ahem* makes it tough to see when to add more kalk. This is the MKII - I found a 6" clear PVC tube that seems ok. Its kind of frosted but its nice that its PVC instead of acrylic. Nonetheless, This model is a little more svelte. It has a smaller 90 degree auger style motor and drive train. same timer. The bottom has 3 cnc-cut PVC discs that are glued into the tube before the bottom cap is applied to make sure there are no leaks.
I'll probably make this version available on ParlAquatics.

Like the MKI, the top two stators are compression-fit into the tube so the whole assembly can be removed for cleaning/replacement/tuning. The only glue being used is PVC glue for the bottom PVC plates into the tube and epoxy for the RODI water input at the bottom; everything else is compression fit or hole & peg.
MKI motion (too busy todo for MKII atm):

I have the plumbing parts.... I'm traveling in 6 days... So tempted to install the new Kalk stirrer and the frag tank but I'm gone for 14 days in 6.... I should wait till after I get back I suppose...
The tank has pretty much been on autopilot since I installed the ATOR and Kalk Stirrer so I'd hate to mess with that right before I go away.

So I was messing around with the K7Mini light on the tank to get photos and my wife walks in and looks at me and the light...
and the tank...

asked what I was doing... I said messing around with the light to get product photos. She says cool and walks out... doesn't mention the tank at all... That's twice she has had an opportunity... Is she like a shark? Circling in to check me out a few times before going in for the kill?

Going away for 2 weeks on Thursday... have cat/fish sitter... prepping tank... took Carbon/Phosban/GFO reactors offline and cleaned them. (I needed to move them to install frag tank and the media needed changing so I just decommissioned them for now.
Cleaned the refugium a little. Cleaned the exile tank (took everything out and scrubbed all the frags and egg crate. vacuumed the sand. It looks like a different tank...
Tomorrow I'll tackle the DT so algae doesn't overrun everything while I'm gone...

Woke up today and checked the Wyze camera…. To my dismay heard the alarm going off… checked fusion and found my temperature was around 74 and dropping.
quickly called my cat/fish sitter who was able to get over to my house and plug in a backup heater. Temp is climbing now so everything seems to be on the up and up.

So my fish sitter saved the day again! A few days ago I randomly decided to look at the Wyze and noticed the power to the tank was off. My apex was off too! Luckily the heater was on a different circuit so the tank was at temp. I don’t know how long it was out for but I texted my sitter and she went over with a friend. I still have no idea why the circuit to the tank is down but I had her switch it all over to an extension cord and it’s been running strong since.
I see fish swimming in the Wyze so don’t think I’ll be coming home to disaster this evening. The ATO doesn’t seem to be on after the power issue and everything is getting a bubble scrub but its all on…
thank goodness!

Got in 5 hours late because we were rerouted to Kansas City due to a low ceiling and fog... So didn't get to bed till way late.

Tank looks decent all things considered. It needed a serious scrape with a razor (HoToolMe) to get all the algae off; the Tunze wasn't cutting it...

Major issues while I was away:
The 1st heater incident was not a failure but rather the heater plug was loose(1/2 in) in the Inkbird socket so it stopped working.
The power outage to the tank was from the GFCI tripping due to my Refugium light taking one last swim.

I had removed my skimmer collection cup plug and attached a small hose for drainage back into the sump; that got clogged so the skimmer was overflowing.
My Auto Filter Roller used a ton of fleece because I didn't have the float cut-off switch low enough in the sump. (I'll be rerolling as much of the wasted fleece as I can.

I had some time today to address the issues and do some upgrades.

I pulled my CO2 scrubber (BRS style) out in-favor of my printed one. It was just clutter.
Pushed my ATO further behind the sump and redid some of the wire management.
Removed my old and installed my new Kalkwasser stirrer.

Presently working on some new products people have asked for while I wait for some orders to print.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
