I currently am building a custom 180 48x48x18 and I need to know the light span of Odyssea T5 Ho 4 light bulb systems off of aqua trader and are the lights from aqua trader any good or not

I can go better t5 ho's its not a biggie just trying to figure out what is the best light setup without the heat and having a nice reef tank

You should look at the Icecap stuff, that is where I am going.
they a great T5 setup, JEBO is chaepo Chinise JUNK. I know I have one.

tek is ho. the ho have more watts per inch of bulb.

if i were you chef, i would get retrofits. and i would get aqualux reflectors, because they dont cost as much as the iceap, nor the tek, but perform just like the icecap, which is to say, much better than the tek...

and to answer your original question chef, t5ho bulbs will last over a year at bare minimum. the day bulbs can go 18-24 months,a nd any blue spectrum will last at least a year. you can get more out of them, but its your call, most hobbyists swap them out after a year

so whats the best retro kit to buy then in everyones opinion because I am not seeing the difference in jebo very tek vs nova or any other except the individual reflectors

The individual reflectors is the MOST IMPORTANT part of having T5 lighting. Without them, you don't get the output that everyone desires.

so then it sounds like to me cost effectiveness to stay with what I have which is pc's cause I dont want to build a canopy and such I want a complete system without having to pay a huge price tag

well, swapping to a t5 ho setup will save you 2 ways.

1 your energy bill will be less per month

2. the t5ho bulbs last longer than PC bulbs...

i got my 3x39 t5ho retrofit everything included for 170 dollars delivered, with bulbs..
