Depends on what size tank you are wanting to use it for.

Only problem I see is that it doesn't have indivudal reflectors as you won't get the full light needed.

It's a normal output (NO) T5 light - not a High Output light. It is slightly better then a standard T12 flourecent bulb. I wouldn't try to keep anything but fish and mushrooms under it.
